E-commerce giant Shopee has introduced a new Rewards programme with loyalty tiers that rewards frequent customers with added benefits. Similar to Grab’s GrabRewards programme, it contains four tiers with all accounts starting from the Classic level all the way to the Platinum membership tier.
All accounts start on the Classic tier by default, which already offers RM275 worth of various vouchers, shipping discounts, and cashback rewards. Once an account has hit a minimum of 10 orders and spends at least RM500, it will be upgraded to the Silver tier that comes with more vouchers and an additional birthday voucher.
Once a user hits at least RM30 orders with a minimum spend of RM2,000, they get bumped up to the Gold tier which adds ShopeeFood vouchers and partner deals (which are not available yet but are coming soon). At the top of the pyramid is the Platinum tier, which requires a minimum spend of RM4,000 and 50 orders to achieve. This level provides all the aforementioned perks along with premium customer service, which has faster response times and priority support.
The programme operates on a six-month cycle and while you can immediately get tiered up once you reach the minimum order and spending criteria, you will need to meet the threshold every single cycle to maintain your tier. If you do meet the requirements at the end of the next cycle, you will be downgraded as the order count and spending resets at the start of each cycle. Purchases of digital products, Shopee games, and ShopeeFood will not count towards your Rewards progress.
