Samsung will reportedly bring an AI video summarisation tool in its One UI 8 based on Android 16. As reported by SammyGuru, the tool will be able to analyse a video, based on speech, visuals, and captions. A multi-modal AI model will then summarise the main points of the video.
The feature will apparently be accessible within the Samsung Internet browser, similar to the Galaxy AI suite, with Samsung Galaxy S25 phones processing the data on device. According to the report, while the AI video summary feature itself was deemed accurate, there is another ‘Detailed’ option for summaries in Galaxy AI, but it does not yet work with the current video tool.

To test it on One UI 7 devices, users have to enable debug settings in Samsung Internet and toggle ‘Enable new GUI’. However, it should be noted that as the AI video summary tool remains a product under testing as of now, it may not work for everyone.
The AI video summarisation ability is expected to be rolled out with the Samsung One UI 8 update based on Android 16, although it is possible it may not actually become available. Besides this feature, the update is also rumoured to bring a redesign to Samsung Internet and the Weather app, among others.
