WhatsApp users have been asking for official iPad version of the app for years and the company might finally fulfil this wish. Up until now, iPad users have had to either settle for the web version of the messaging platform, with the app only available for mobile and desktop.
Earlier today on X, the messaging app’s official account reacted with eye emojis to a post from a user asking for an iPad version of WhatsApp. While it is not much to go by, it seems to be a hint that the messenger could move forward with the app.

Of course, this is not the first time that the company has gotten its users’ hopes up. Back in 2022, head of WhatsApp Will Cathcart said that they would love to make an iPad app. A year later, a beta version of an iPad app was spotted, but so far, it has not led to a wide release.
Interestingly, it was reported last month that Instagram is working on its own iPad app amidst TikTok’s legal quagmire. This might be a sign that Meta as a whole might be embracing the iPad for its platforms.
