Another week, another whirlwind of totally EXTRA events! We were here, there and everywhere!

We werked it at the KL Fashion Week 2023 preview, got revved-up at the Honda City 2023 launch, left a big lipstick smooch at Sephora’s ‘Clean’ event, gagged at Furla’s F/W23 collection sneak peek, and MUCH, MUCH MORE! We were on the scene, and vibing like a boss! Just check out our social diary for this past week (don’t be jelly!):

Scrambler Ducati Next-Gen Launch

We enjoyed a dose of freedom at the Next-Gen Tour Freedom Festival @ The Square, Publika, which was the venue for the launch of Scrambler Ducati’s next generation! The new bike is a BABE – completely redesigned, it boasts an eye-catching, modern look that turns heads. It’s also a slew of contradictions – high-tech but easy-to-ride, stylish but safe, luxe but affordably-priced. We were introduced to three Scrambler models: Icon, Nightshift and Full Throttle.

The three models’ air-cooled twin-cylinder Desmodue engines, trellis frames, wide handlebars, low centers of gravity and fun riding nature are enhanced by advanced electronics with a modern take on style, offering enthusiasts of all experiences and abilities great riding pleasure. KL Fashion Week 2023 Media Launch

Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW), which is set to return for its 11th year, promises a whole new level of experience, engagement and excitement. That’s what we learned at the recent media launch, which was a spectacular event in itself!

KLFW 2023 certainly kicks things up a notch. From 21st to 27th August 2023, 50 designers and brands will be divided into 7 different spaces across 7 days to showcase ready-to-wear collections. The various runways will be at Sofitel Damansara, PARKROYAL COLLECTION KL, Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur, Platinum Park KL, Aloft KL Sentral, Boathouse Kuala Lumpur, and InterContinental Kuala Lumpur.

From the crop of our homegrown talents, 7 designers and labels will be making their first appearance at KLFW, alongside anticipated comebacks from Fairuz Ramdan, Andy Sulaiman, Ezzati Amira, ZaimiZulkafli and Supercrew after their brief hiatus.

I just thought in my mind that when I look at what’s happening in Paris, Milan, and New York, I told myself that I want to do something that is celebrating our city, but obviously, celebrating in different locations. It is exciting to see fashion enthusiasts going from one place to another to celebrate fashion. It is our 11th year, and we want to be different. We want to break all rules,” said Andrew Tan, Founder of KLFW.

Joining hands with KLFW again as official coffee sponsor is MOCCONA. Throughout the 7-day event, MOCCONA will be serving its bestselling varieties across its three coffee intensities: Number 5 (Classic Medium Roast); Number 8 (Classic Dark Roast); and Number 10 (Espresso Style). The beverage brand will also present a special fashion showcase with local designer Mimpikita on 24th August 2023 at Nasa Tower.

Launch Of Honda City 2023

There are now not one, not two, but FIVE new Honda City cars in Malaysia. We were invited to visit Forest Valley Hall to witness the official launch of the new Honda City and all its variants. The most popular Honda model was redesigned with a more assertive exterior and cutting-edge features that provide customers with convenience and practicality.

From the longer and more elegant body to the cosy cabin that lets you drive without compromising any performance, the new ride is a dream. Not only that, the new Honda City has a whole suite of new tricks, such as Honda CONNECT, a whole new system that links with your car for greater convenience.

Sacoor Blue & Sacoor One Launch @ MyTOWN

We were on hand to witness the launch of the Sacoor Blue and Sacoor One outlets at MyTOWN Shopping Centre, recently. The adjoining stores feature a unique shop-in-shop concept, providing customers with an easy and convenient way to explore the diverse range from both labels. Sacoor Group’s Chief Executive Officer, Hugo Carriço, explained: “Launching the shop-in-shop concept introduces an innovative way to showcase both brands side by side. This seamless arrangement allows customers to choose between Sacoor Blue’s versatile casual wear and Sacoor One’s refined formal attire. Both brands cater to a variety of preferences, ensuring a convenient and diverse shopping experience under one roof.”

The event drew a diverse crowd, from media personalities and trendsetters to content creators, athletes, and actors. Notable faces included former national gymnast Farah Ann, Founder & President of YouthCare Malaysia Jabir Meftah, content creator Mia Chai and popular local actors Dini Schatzmann and Imran Aqil.

Furla Fall/Winter 2023 Collection Preview

Italian fashion brand Furla invited us to preview their Fall/Winter 2023 collection at Three Years Old Cafe recently, and we were mesmerised! Inspired by minimalism and Italian architecture from the 1950s, some of the highlight pieces in the collection include the iconic Unica Furla, the elegant Furla Flow and the spacious Furla Opportunity.

Not only did guests get a closer look at the beautiful pieces, but we also got to put our crafty sides to work by making our own limoncello cocktails and succulent terrariums. It was a blast!

‘Clean At Sephora’ Showcase

Sephora’s recent “Clean At Sephora” event gave us some insight into what “clean” means to them, thanks to a showcase of products that fall under their “clean” label. From the outset, we were given plenty of opportunities to not only learn, but also to test for ourselves what Sephora’s “clean” really means.

With a tester booth, we were able to explore the variety of products they have, including Drunk Elephant’s Intensive Hydration Serum, Kora’s Nono Glow Face Oil, Sephora’s Color Shifter Eye Palette, Tarte’s Ultra Creamy Concealer and more. We also got to sit in on an IRL-podcast with well-known beauty influencers Maggy Wang, Natalie Chai, Julie Wong and Dr Ingky. Not only were we entertained by their antics, we also learned and debunked certain beauty myths! Have a look for yourselves!

Maje & SANDRO F/W23 Collection Preview

We got a sneak peek at Maje and SANDRO’s Fall/Winter 2023 collection at Suria KLCC recently – and we absolutely loved everything in the two lines!

Maje’s Fall/Winter 2023 collection is unlike anything you’d expect to see this time of year. It mixes sensuality with a sense of chill; sophisticated shapes with subdued tones. This season’s Maje look is basically a genre mash-up, in a purposeful effort at nonchalance.

Meanwhile, SANDRO’s men’s and women’s F/W23 collections play with different patterns and styles, creating a unique selection of items that will be a great addition to your wardrobe. Have a look at why we loved them:

Yukimoto’s ‘A Yard By The Other Name’ Launch

We were in Bangsar to check out the latest ‘A Yard By The Other Name’ collection from Yukimoto Jewellery. Inspired by the unexplored English countryside, the collection features a variety of jewellery and four different stones – jadeite, amethyst, rock crystal and pearl.

At Yukimoto’s Bangsar store, we listened in as founder Michele Ong shared her inspiration for the new collection and sat in on a sharing session with an energy coach about how crystals can heal the seven chakras in our body. While serenaded by singer Anna Chong, we were also treated to some yummy desserts by Burrow. The entire ‘A Yard By The Other Name’ collection is now available on the Yukimoto website and offline stores.

MS. READ Flagship Store Re-opening

Pioneering plus-size womenswear brand MS. READ recently reopened its flagship store at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur – and we had a first-hand look at the brand-new space. The reinvented store aims to be a haven of inspiration for plus-size women to celebrate their beauty and individuality.

CEO Kristy Yong gave a touching speech about the store, hoping it continues to be a space for women to be proud of their curves. At the reopening, we got a short styling demonstration featuring the brand’s latest MALAYSIANA scarves, plus a fashion show featuring eight gorgeous models styled in none other than MS. READ.
