AirAsia X Passengers Got The “Boss Upgrade” After CEO Tony Fernandes Personally Served Their In-Flight Meals
When you’re on an AirAsia flight, you expect to see AirAsia flight attendants serving the passengers – but how would you react if the one serving you was the CEO himself, Tony Fernandes?
A recent AirAsia X passenger, 麦子厨房夫妻档 Maizi Kitchen, took to Facebook to share his reaction when he saw Tony attending to passengers on his flight from Japan to Malaysia. The Facebook user wrote in the post, “Met AirAsia’s boss, who was on the same flight. No wonder the flight attendants looked particularly beautiful on this day.” The passenger added, “We later found out that the VVIP that flew to Hokkaido on the same flight as us was also them (Tony’s family)”, revealing that this isn’t their first time on the same flight.
Of course, passengers might not feel as pressured about Tony’s presence as the staff on-flight would. According to the Facebook user, he curiously asked one of the stewardesses if there was any pressure to work with the CEO by her side, to which she answered, “Yes! Of course, it’s stressful!”. The Facebook user also included a few photos he took of Tony while the executive was serving another passenger.
Many netizens have reacted to the Facebook post, equally excited about Tony’s appearance as the passenger. One netizen said the passengers got upgraded to the “boss service”, while another joked that the day’s flight must have been on time since there were VVIP guests. Funny enough, that wasn’t the case because Facebook user revealed their flight actually got delayed because of the VVIPs.
The AirAsia CEO also shared the experience through his Instagram account, posting a photo of him serving the in-flight meals. In his post, Tony wrote, “Decided to help out Airasia X crew and do the meal service. Much harder on the wide body. Full respect to me X all stars. Ps I’m looking thinner”.
