In addition to a new MacBook Air, Apple has also announced an update to its Mac Studio with brand new chips. With lower starting prices and more RAM than its predecessors, the new mini desktop computer can be equipped with either the Apple Silicon M4 Max or the M3 Ultra.

While the Mac Studio retains its design, its Thunderbolt 4 ports have all been upgraded to Thunderbolt 5. Up front, the M4 Max model gets two USB-C ports with an SD card slot while the M3 Ultra variant upgrades the USB-C ports to additional Thunderbolt 5 slots. The former supports up to five displays while the latter can output to a total of eight displays.
