It was announced earlier in the week that as part of the RAHMAH Incentive Rebate, local telcos will be giving customers a minimum of 5GB of mobile data for free for the first day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri. CelcomDigi has announced the way in which it will be giving away the free data to its customers, which involves no additional steps like registering for it.
In fact, it basically involves nothing else besides using mobile data on said day, 31 March. More specifically, redeeming the free 5GB of mobile data simply requires CelcomDigi customers to be using mobile data between 7AM and 7PM of said day. Regardless of the exact time you do activate it, the additional mobile data quota will be valid for 24 hours.
According to the FAQ page, you won’t get any notification that you’ve gotten the extra 5GB of mobile data. That being the case, it should automatically be reflected on the Celcom Life app and MyDigi usage dashboard.
As comms minister Fahmi Fadzil announced, both postpaid and prepaid users will be benefiting from this. Of course, you’ll have to make sure your line is active during the mentioned time window. Postpaid users also have to make sure you have no overdue bills. Though it is a tad odd that this only applies to the first day of a two-day public holiday.
