Residents in coastal areas have been advised to be on the alert for the extreme high tide phenomenon expected to occur from today until Sunday.
In a Facebook post, the National Hydrographic Center (PHN) said the phenomenon could cause water overflow in land areas which, in turn, could result in flooding in low coastal areas.
PHN also advised the public to monitor the weather conditions and refer to the relevant agencies for coastal area safety information.
“Residents near the coast are advised to be more alert and vigilant in the face of this phenomenon. Please monitor the current weather conditions and consult the relevant agencies for coastal area safety information,” it said.
