GUA MUSANG: The education ministry says it will leave it to the police to investigate the alleged assault of a teacher by his colleague at a primary school in Kemaman, Terengganu.

“The case is under investigation, and we defer to the police, with the ministry agreeing to the action taken by the police,” minister Fadhlina Sidek said when asked to comment on the investigation.

She was speaking to reporters after the launch of the enhancing reading through digital text materials under the literacy programme for Orang Asli pupils at Sekolah Kebangsaan Kuala Betis here today.

Yesterday, Terengganu police chief Mazli Mazlan was reported to have said that a 49-year-old male teacher had been arrested at a teacher’s quarters around 9.30 pm last Sunday over the alleged incident.

On the issue of school students vaping with magic mushroom liquid, Fadhlina said school authorities were taking the matter seriously. She urged parents to closely monitor their children’s activities outside of school.
