Over the years, Forbes – and its regional counterpart, Forbes Asia – has released their list of people within an age range. The ‘30 Over 30’ and ‘50 Over 50’ lists recognise industry players who have shown excellence in their field, whether business, sports or entertainment.
Previously, the renowned media company shared their ‘50 Over 50’ list for Asia and three brilliant Malaysian women joined the ranks with their contributions to their industry. Four more Malaysians were recently listed in the ‘30 Over 30’ list, which celebrates Asia’s top 300 trailblazers and entrepreneurs in ten categories. Here are their names:

Sivasangari Subramaniam (24 Years Old)
National squash athlete Sivasangari Subramaniam joins the list for the Entertainment and Sports category. The Kedahan has represented Malaysia in many international tournaments and secured a gold medal at the 2017 SEA Games and a silver medal at the 2018 Asian Games. She also recently beat the World’s No.1 squash player, Nour El Sherbini, at the GillenMarkets London Squash Classic 2024 tournament to win the gold.
Erica Eng (25 Years Old)
Animator Erica Eng is included in this year’s ‘30 Under 30’ list in the Media, Marketing and Advertising category. Erica first gained international recognition with her 2019 debut webcomic, “Fried Rice”, which won an Eisner Award – the comic industry’s equivalent of the Oscars. Her work was praised as beautifully nostalgic as it depicts scenes of everyday life in Malaysia through fine pencil lines and watercolour graphics.

Angel Low (26 Years Old)
Angel Low, the principal of The Hive Southeast Asia, makes the list in the Finance and Venture category with her vibrant career in the startup world. She mainly serves as the principal of the venture studio, which invests in startups in Malaysia and ASEAN. However, she’s also the general manager of AI Nusantara, an initiative by the Selangor Digital School that helps students prepare for the digital future through AI and machine-learning education.
Lee Zhe Xi (26 Years Old)
Chef and restaurateur Lee Zhe Xi makes the list as part of the Arts (Food & Drink) category. Zhe Xi is the co-owner of the omakase restaurant Eat and Cook, which earned global recognition within less than a year of operations. The restaurant was named a Michelin Recommended restaurant in 2023 and 2034. Zhe Xi also co-owns Barkar KL, an upscale restaurant that serves elevated comfort dishes.
Congratulations to all the Malaysians who have made the list!
