AND1 Tai Chi

The NBA has seen waves of talented stars come and go, but none came close to the astronomical heights that was Vince Carter, the legendary basketball player who amassed a staggering 25,728 points in his entire career. One of the things this former Toronto Raptors star is known for is exhilarating dunks – all the while wearing the AND1 Tai Chi.

Now, after 24 years, AND1 is bringing back these iconic shoes with their striking colour palette. This footwear features a 100% authentic leather nubuck upper for incredible support for both the user’s feet and ankles.

It also features a fixed interal EVA footbed that nestles your feet in pillowy protection, while its phylon EVA midsole, injection-moulded bottom-loaded shank, full-length rubber outsole, and traditional herringbone outsole tread ensure exceptional protection, performance, and grip.

Able to weather shocks from impacts and serious ankle rolls, these shoes are no slouch when it comes to ensuring your feet’s safety. But it hasn’t forgotten that it needs to be comfortable too, thanks to its breathable air mesh tongue that allows your feet to perform above and beyond, while still keeping them cool. And with its anodised metallic speed laces, you can get in and out of the game at a moment’s notice.

Available in four different colours (White/Red, White/Blue, Black/Dark Grey, and White/Silver Grey) AND1 Tai Chi is available for purchase now at AND1’s official website for US$130 (~RM569).

New Balance 990v6 “Rich Oak”

The seasons are changing, and luckily, New Balance is expanding its Fall/Winter 2024 lineup with a new colourway, just in time for fall.

Tonal brown, beige and dark grey are expertly blended in the “Rich Oak” colourway, which is evocative of the earth tones seen in the autumn foliage. The pig skin suede overlays and mesh upper are covered in these shades, giving the sneaker a layered, textured appearance that enhances its depth and richness. The design uses cream, black, and pure white accents on the midsole, sockliner, and laces to counterbalance the earthy tones. This creates a simple yet elegant contrast.

The unexpected pop of colour in the “N” branding on the medial side, which is emphasised in a striking shade of “Cosmic Grape,” is what distinguishes the New Balance 990v6 “Rich Oak.” This understated yet striking detail gives the otherwise neutral colours a distinctive touch while giving the classic design a contemporary spin.

The 990v6 carries on New Balance’s tradition of fusing performance technology with cutting-edge design, providing both comfort and style. The shoe keeps its classic design, which affords cushioned comfort and supportive structure, making it appropriate for both daily wear and more strenuous activities.

New Balance stores and the brand’s official website will launch the New Balance 990v6 “Rich Oak,” which retails for US$220 (~RM963), beginning 19th September.
