As part of its efforts at Gemini integration, Google has incorporated the AI feature in many of its tools. Now, in a recent update to Workspace, Gemini will be able to add appointments from Gmail to the calendar with just a single click of the ‘Add to Calendar’ button.
The new button will appear at the top of emails, next to the summarise button. The calendar option will also show up in Gmail threads, allowing users to click on the button to create an appointment.
The Gemini sidebar will then open up to confirm the appointment, allowing users to double check the details. In the event of a mistake, the appointment can be amended using the edit button in the Gemini window.

The button is essentially similar to directly creating an appointment through the Gemini panel, but with shorter steps. The button will not appear on messages with included calendar integration, such as flight bookings, as those appear on Google Calendar without AI.
While the feature is set to be rolled out today, it could take a minimum of two weeks to reach all users. It’s limited to English and the Gmail web interface at this time, and is only accessible through premium subscription plans.
