In this video, I will be comparing 7 different brokers that will allow you to buy US stocks and ETFs (as well as from various markets, such as HKEX, SGX, Europe, Australia, and so many more!).

For your information – I have about 90% of my portfolio invested in the US market – that just shows how much I love the US market! ๐Ÿ˜

The brokers compared here are:
1. TradeStation Global (TSG-IBKR)
2. Interactive Brokers (IBKR)
3. TD Ameritrade Singapore (TDA SG)
4. FSMOne
5. Tiger Brokers
6. eToro
7. Local Malaysian/Singaporean Banks

๐Ÿ‘‰๐ŸปWhy I made this video?
I aim to help Malaysian/Singaporean retail investors to have access to one of the best financial markets in the world. In the past, we used to have limited access to global markets and investing in foreign stocks involved high transaction fees. Today, the process is becoming easier and cheaper as more foreign brokerage firms enter the region to compete with local players by offering competitive rates and diverse products – there’s so many to choose! (I know)!

Notes/Corrections:
1. Tiger Broker’s parent (UP Fintech Holding Ltd) have since been profitable (positive net income) in 2020.
2. eToro – You are buying the underlying assets for US stocks (1x leverage), any other financial market trades/ETFs are still considered CFD. You may need to contact eToro to switch your account to be able to buy the underlying assets. Minimum Buy: Stocks (USD 50), ETFs (USD 500).
3. TradeStation Global (โ—๏ธupdated December 2020โ—๏ธ) – If you have any position on your portfolio, there won’t be any inactivity fee should you fail to maintain USD 2,500 at any time. However, you will only be charged by the inactivity fee of USD 1/month ONLY IF you have no positions in your portfolio and have less than USD 2,500. Do note that the initial minimum deposit is USD 2,500 in order to get the account activated. Hope this clarifies.
4. TD Ameritrade – No Fractional Shares Trading. Plus, it does not accept funding from 3rd party FinTech (TransferWise, InstaReM) from Malaysia. The only way to fund it from Malaysia is via local-banks’ Foreign TT.
5. IBKR – Inactivity fee is USD 20/month if total asset value is less than USD 2k.
