UPDATE : watch my latest video on the reinstating of public bus services here starting from 1st MAY
Since 1 April 2022, our land borders between Singapore and Malaysia is fully reopened. Vaccinated travellers like myself will be able to commute between both countries without being subjected to COVID-19 health protocols. So I decided to visit Johore Bahru for a day trip using public transport.
There used to be various public buses plying Singapore to Malaysia in both directions but these bus services have not been restarted. So now the way is (SG to MY)
1. Take a public bus(911, 911T,912,912T,856,903) from Woodlands bus interchange and alight at the Woodlands Train Checkpoint .
2. Take a long walk to the departure hall of Singapore immigration and clear it
3. Take the shuttle service S$2/RM6 to the Malaysia immigration
and you will be in Malaysia in no time!
To come back from Malaysia to Singapore:
1. Clear Malaysia immigration
2. Go down to bus bays and take the shuttle service (RM2) to Singapore immigration
3. Take public bus back to Woodlands MRT or book a private car to go back!
