PETALING JAYA: Real estate firm Juwai IQI has said it will investigate an employee who allegedly turned away a potential client because of her race.
This comes after X user @kalvinderks_ alleged that an agent with Juwai IQI had discriminated against Indians and Punjabis.
She said the agent’s response to her enquiry was initially fine, but he was rude after learning her name and race.
In a post on X, Juwai IQI said the company would conduct an immediate and thorough internal investigation into the complaint.
“Please accept our apologies for the completely unacceptable behaviour of (our agent). IQI is an international company with a management team from diverse backgrounds, races and religions.
“Our staff and agents come from all walks of life, we do not condone or tolerate any form of discrimination.
“We have zero tolerance towards discrimination and racism and will act in the strongest manner against it,” it said.
