Imagine going about your day innocently only to discover that your belongings had been vandalised – and you have no clue who the culprit was. Well, that was what had happened to local actress Ruby Yap (叶俞均) after she found her car spray-painted without any potential suspects.

The actress recently shared an image of her vandalised car through Instagram Stories. As shown in the photo, the side of Ruby’s car appeared to have been spray painted with white paint. According to China Press, the 33-year-old also said she’s unsure of the exact day or time when her car was damaged. However, she said the incident most likely happened on Thursday (5th September) or Wednesday (4th September) when she was parked at KLPAC because her car was still in pristine condition before those days.

It’s worth noting that the rest of the car is still in good condition, and the vandalism doesn’t appear to signify anything. Nevertheless, Ruby voiced her concern for the sudden act of vandalism, adding that she’s worried about being a target of violence. However, reports say the public figure ruled out the vandalism as revenge for illegal parking, saying that she always parked in designated areas, never double parked and always paid her parking fees.

Ruby did consider that the act may have been a prank and that she wasn’t targeted but said such thoughts didn’t help alleviate her concern. She said, “I’m worried that someone did it on purpose. The more I think about it, the scarier it is.” Some fans also questioned whether she had a dashcam on her car to identify the culprit. Unfortunately, Ruby said her camera couldn’t catch the perpetrator in action because they weren’t in the frame when they vandalised her car.

Ruby is currently participating in the theatre production “The Sisters Soong” at KLPAC. For now, it’s unclear whether Ruby has lodged a report with the police on the vandalism – but we hope she stays vigilant until she finds the culprit.
