PETALING JAYA: A Myanmar national has been arrested on suspicion of slashing his friend’s throat with a knife in a workers’ dormitory in Melaka.
The 28-year-old man, who was intoxicated at that time, became agitated when the 35-year-old victim played loud music in the dormitory, Sinar Harian reported.
Melaka Tengah police chief Christopher Patit said the dormitory supervisor found the victim bleeding from a gash on his neck. It is believed that a fight had broken out before that.
The supervisor immediately confiscated a knife believed to have been used in the altercation from the suspect, he added.
“He then instructed for the victim to be taken to a private clinic in Tangga Batu for treatment before the latter was sent to Melaka Hospital,” he was quoted as saying.
The suspect was arrested at the dormitory at 6:50pm on Thursday and admitted to being involved in the altercation.
