KUALA LUMPUR: MCA will hold its annual general assembly behind closed doors on Dec 17-18, the party’s secretary-general Chong Sin Woon said today.
The decision also applied to the delegates conference of the youth and women wings.
He said attendance was only for central delegates of the main body and the two MCA wings.
“In this regard, the three AGMs of MCA, Youth and Women wings for this year will not invite any guests, be they from among the top brass of Barisan Nasional, representatives of Chinese guilds and associations, NGOs or from among the heads of foreign missions and the mass media,” he said.

Chong said the party’s discussions and a post-mortem will focus on MCA’s performance at the general election last month.
He said MCA believed this was a critical moment for the party to conduct a self-evaluation and to discuss its future direction.
MCA turned in a dismal performance at the general election last month when only two of its candidates were returned to Parliament: party president Wee Ka Siong, who was re-elected in Ayer Hitam, and Wee Jeck Seng, re-elected in Tanjung Piai.
However, the result was an improvement over the single seat won in the 2018 general election.
