0

Planck is a name that’s fresh in the storage industry but the company is claiming to be making the world’s smallest SSD, with the self-titled name of the Planck SSD. It’s an SSD aimed at creators and designed with a smartphone-first philosophy in mind.

Specs-wise, the SSD weighs 10g, offers water and drop resistant, comes in either 1TB or 2TB storage options, has average sequential speeds of 1,050MB/s, and comes with a promises of Apple ProRes recording at up to 120fps with the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max.

Planck isn’t just making its SSD exclusive to the iPhone either, with compatibility for Android devices. Because of its size and design being flushed to the base of a smartphone phone, using it while plugged in simply as a small “chin” to the devices.

Additionally, the brand also says that the device is loaded with heat dissipation measures, including thermal pads and a massive heat sink that diverts all the heat towards the plug side.
