A miscarriage is one of the most painful experiences any mother could endure both physically and emotionally. The dream, joy, and hope of having a child are gone in an instant. Many have spiralled into depression due to the heart-shattering trauma and it might even take years for some to recover.

One can only imagine the devastation of losing an unborn child. UK singer Jessie J once shared her heartbreaking miscarriage experience. Now Nurul Izzah, daughter of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, recently shared her tragic loss with the world.

Yesterday (Tuesday, 24th January), politician Nurul Izzah posted a photo of herself being comforted by her parents on both her Facebook and Instagram to share the heartbreaking news about her miscarriage. The former member of the House of Representatives of Malaysia shared that she and her husband Yin Shao Loong were expecting their baby but unfortunately, their hope of expanding the family came crashing down.

“We were devasted to receive news about the loss of our unborn child. The little boot is gone ❤️,” she wrote. In the post, the 42-year-old shared that the experience made her think about other women who share similar stories about suffering from a miscarriage. While saddened by her recent loss, the politician said, “So to those of you, well almost all of us, who have tasted loss, we can offer our [prayers], a big virtual hug, and a reminder – that life does go on.”
