KUALA LUMPUR: Divers Pandelela Rinong and Dhabitah Sabri failed to earn a ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics after finishing 12th in the 10m synchronised platform diving event at the World Aquatics Championships (WAC) in Doha, Qatar, today.
The duo failed to produce their best, collecting 240.06 points overall at the Hamad Aquatic Centre.
The top spot was clinched by China’s China Chen Yuxi and Quan Hingchan with 362.22 points followed by North Korea’s Kim Mi rae and Jo Jin-min (320.70 points) in second and British pair Toulson Lois and Spendolini Sirieix in third (299.34 points).
Pandelela-Dhabitah needed to finish among the top four to qualify for the Olympics.
Earlier, Ooi Tza Lian and Syafiq Puteh were also eliminated in the men’s individual 3m springboard after finishing 23rd (352.10 points) and 45th (296.35 points) respectively.
