The Health Ministry said the pensioner who raised the issue of being discharged at the National Heart Institue (IJN) as part of a cost-cutting measure is likely to have sought medical care at the Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL), which is not among the 10 ministry cardiac centres.
In a letter published on CodeBlue, an unnamed pensioner claimed that he was discharged after receiving extensive care at IJN and was told that the ministry issued a directive that all civil servants and pensioners should be discharged to the Health Ministry cardiac centre nearest to their homes.
