PLUS expects 14% increase in traffic volume during Christmas, year-end holidays – 2.12 mil vehicles daily
PLUS Malaysia expects a 14% increase in traffic volume on its highways during the Christmas and year-end holidays from December 20, 2024 until January 2, 2025. In a statement, the highway concessionaire predicts the 2.12 million to ply its highways per day compared to 1.85 million on normal days.
Highway users are advised to plan their journey by taking advantage of the MyPLUS-TTA digital itinerary that can be accessed through the PLUS App. “The digital travel schedule aims to make it easier for people to plan their journey, as well as help distribute traffic for a smoother and more comfortable journey,” the company wrote in its statement.
“It is also to prevent vehicles from accumulating in one location on the highway at the same time and possibly getting stuck in traffic,” it added.
Motorists can also obtain the latest traffic information through the PUTRI virtual assistant, the @plustrafik X (formerly Twitter) page, electronic signages or by listening for reports by local radio stations. Additionally, the PLUSLine (1800-88-0000) is available for any inquiries or emergency assistance. Route planning can also be done using the PLUS App, Waze or Google Maps.
