0

realme has officially launched its GT5 Pro flagship smartphone in China, arriving a couple of months after the debut of the standard variant back in August. But unlike its sibling, this particular model packs Qualcomm’s latest high-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, along with other specifications similar to the OnePlus 12 which recently debuted earlier this week.

Up front, the new realme GT5 Pro features a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display with 2780 x 1264 px resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, 2160Hz touch sampling rate, and a maximum peak brightness of 4,500 nits. Also featured is a punch-hole cutout which houses a 32MP selfie camera as well as an under-display fingerprint scanner.

Additionally, the phone comes with an IP64 rating for water and dust resistance, dual Dolby Atmos tuned stereo speakers, Android 14 via realme UI 5.0, and a USB-C 3.2 connector. Besides that, it also has a new palmprint unlocking feature which utilises the front-facing camera, as well as AI-powered hand gesture control support.

Running things in the background is the aforementioned Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which is paired together with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.0 storage. Powering the realme GT5 Pro is a large 5,400mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging support. Other notable features include a 12,000mm² vapour chamber which keeps the phone’s temperature in check, as well as NFC, dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity.

Together with the large circular island on the back of the phone is a rear case that’s available in either red or cream vegan leather, or a textured glass finish in black. Meanwhile, housed within the aforementioned island is a triple camera setup which consists of two 50MP sensors for the GT5 Pro’s primary and telephoto cameras respectively, along with an 8MP ultra-wide.
