A Y/PROJECT twist on the iconic Salomon Speedcross 3, this collaboration focuses on the ‘savoir-faire’ of both brands, blending absurdity and opulence with form and function. The Speedcross 3 Y/PROJECT is a lavishly graphic and textured reinterpretation of an iconic Salomon trail silhouette. Draped in opulent fabric for an almost absurdly luxurious finish, this collaboration merges design versatility and irony with traditional trail codes.
The scrunched fabric texture is achieved using an adjustable drawstring to hold the drape in place, creating a pleated aesthetic that reveals the iconic Sensifit™ technology underneath. This intricate fabric work adds to the shoe’s striking visual appeal, balancing luxury with functionality.
Excelling in performance, the Speedcross 3 Y/PROJECT features an aggressive grip and agile design. The legendary Speedcross lug pattern is engineered for inimitable traction across a variety of surfaces, ensuring stability and control. Lightweight protection is offered through a protective band around the base of the foot, sheltering it from the elements while maintaining the shoe’s lightweight construction.
Glenn Martens was an integral part of the Speedcross 3 Y/PROJECT sneaker design and this collaboration marks one of his last while Creative Director of Y/PROJECT.
