Samsung Wallet Introduces Tap To Transfer Feature

0

Samsung has announced a new Tap To Transfer feature for its Samsung Wallet app, which is its digital wallet platform. Similar to Apple’s Tap To Pay feature, it allows money transfers between two compatible phones, but instead of being limited to businesses, Samsung’s feature is being rolled out to regular users with peer-to-peer (P2P) transfers.

Developed through a collaboration with Visa and Mastercard, Tap To Transfer allows users to use a debit card stored in Wallet to send money to friends and family members’ bank accounts by just tapping phones using NFC technology. Of course, the app also supports remote transfers through phone numbers as long as the recipient also has the app.

Of course, the feature is only limited to Galaxy devices with NFC and support for Samsung Wallet. Unfortunately, Tap To Transfer is currently limited to US users, with the company not disclosing any expansion plans for the near future.

The digital wallet still has other features, however, including Samsung Pay, a password manager, digital car keys for certain brands, and digital IDs in some countries. There are even businesses that offer digital passes and tickets that can be stored on your phone through the app.
