PETALING JAYA: SJKC Mun Choong reopened with staff and pupils observing a minute of silence for those who lost their lives in a landslide in Batang Kali on Dec 16.
Eleven people from the school – including six teachers, three students and two canteen workers – were among the 31 who died when the landslide hit three campsites.
According to a report in Kosmo, students were told to inform their teachers if they were struggling to cope with the passing of their friends.
“If any of you are still grieving (from the incident), please reach out to the teachers immediately to seek help,” a teacher’s representative was quoted as saying during this morning’s assembly.

Last week, students, parents and teachers gathered at the school for a memorial for those who had died in the landslide.
A total of 20 adults and 11 children lost their lives, while 61 people were rescued.
