Take Windows Vista On A Diet Plan

0

Microsoft likes to solve a problem with another problem and hence lead to Vista massive growth of size! One example is: When Microsoft create Superfetch technology to pre-catch application, it encounters the low memory problem, and the very smart solution (stupid as well) is to invent ReadyBoost! This keeps on and on until the inevitably happened: Created too much overheads and kill every good feature. In this article I will show you how to lose weight on your low memory machine to restore the real power of Vista …

Day 1 – Turn off Theme Service.

Turn off them and use traditional menu, tweak the registry for menu to response faster, do not use Dreamcast in Vista ultimate, this will take up a lot of the processor and memory resources.

Day 2 – Turn off Advanced Services.

Turn off the services below:

a) Superfetch

b) ReadyBoost

c) Smart Card

d) Tablet PC

e) Windows Search

f) Workstation

g) Windows Defender

h) Any that applies.

Unless you have more RAM, I recommend you turn them off to save yourself some overheads.

Day 3 – Install memory optimizer.

Download and install any good freeware memory optimizer, such as Winclean memory optimizer. It will unload dll and free cache memory for application.

Day 4 – Install Process Tamer.

Use Process Tamer to lower your process' priority, free more processing power for your application. Process Tamer can be configured to automatic lower any application exlicitly, flexible and yet powerful.

Day 5 – Uninstall or remove startup application.

Remove any unnecessary startup application, minimize your startup programs and only launch them when needed, such as Skype, messenger, download accelerator, graphic card monitoring software and more.

Final Day – Replenish any services that you feel comfortable without affecting much performance, you are good to go! To get more tuning tips and tricks, try "Unleash Vista Power Advance Guide".
