Australian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam, Luke Arnold appears to be one of the guests for the Royal wedding as he attended the proposal ceremony and is looking forward to the Gendang Jaga Jaga (Official Opening) Ceremony which will take place later today (Monday, 8th January). While there’s currently not much information on today’s event so far, we do know a bit of what’s happening in the coming days.
Yesterday, Borneo Bulletin posted a video of the final rehearsals of the upcoming procession as part of the royal wedding ceremony. In the video, we can see that Istana Nurul Iman has been fully decorated and the seats have all been arranged for the big day. Rehearsal for the parade around Brunei’s capital, Bandar Seri Begawan was also shown where the royal couple will also soon participate.
According to the official announcement and invitation a few months back, the solemnisation ceremony will take place on 11th January (Thursday) followed by the official wedding ceremony and parade, which will be held on 14th January (Sunday) at the palace. The 10-day ceremony will officially end on 16th January (Tuesday).
