Every now and then, rumours would surface about K-pop idols dating one another. Some were plausible, while others were a little too far-fetched. Regardless of whether they were true or not, fans would remain curious and dig deeper into the potential partners of their favourite artists.
So, how would K-pop fans react if members from two of the biggest idol groups in the world were dating each other? BTS’s J-Hope (제이홉) and TWICE’s Nayeon (임나연) are currently going viral for this very reason, but are the rumours true? Let’s find out:
Recently, a netizen claimed to have compiled ‘evidence’ suggesting that J-Hope and Nayeon have been secretly an item for a few years now. According to screenshots of a TikTok post, the rumoured couple have been dating since 2022. The netizen reached this conclusion after noticing that the idols had been spotted at the same locations.
The first photo allegedly shows the two stars sitting at the same table in a café, with the background appearing identical. The second photo shows the public figures at the same spot in a park, striking similar poses. The following set of photos in the TikTok post presented more so-called evidence of their relationship, with the idols either wearing the same brand of clothing or accessories, being at the same location, or ordering the same food.
However, it is worth noting that the dates of each of the two superstars’ social media posts were either days or months apart, so it’s still very possible that this could be coincidental. The viral slideshow clearly attracted the attention of both fandoms, with surprisingly many of them expressing support if the rumours turned out to be true.
Some, of course, were not so convinced, arguing that being at the same location doesn’t necessarily mean the idols are dating. A few pointed out that the reason J-Hope and Nayeon were seen wearing Louis Vuitton is that both are brand ambassadors. Do you think they’d make a cute couple?
