In June, Hong Kong actor Tony Leung (梁朝偉) and actress Anna Ueyama (上山诗钠) were caught in a minor controversy after Anna posted some seemingly intimate photos of her with Tony on his 61st birthday. Well, recently, Tony’s wife, Carina Lau (刘嘉玲) finally confronted her friend about it.
Many will know that Tony Leung isn’t one for public affection, so, him allowing Anna Ueyama to kiss him on the cheek and plaster herself to him was a pretty big deal. As such, Carina decided to ask her friend about it. Surprisingly, Anna’s response caught many people off-guard!
During travel show “出发吧路即生活”, Carina took the opportunity to confront Anna. “Why did you hold my husband for a photograph?” she asked Anna as they were seated at a bench. Carina sounded fairly serious about the matter, but Anna’s immediate response threw any worries that Carina was bothered about the issue.
“You were the one who took them!” Anna exclaimed, which made Carina slap her knee and laugh. Anna went on to explain her relationship with the respected actor. “Tony Leung is my relative (and) family member. I rarely call him Tony. I (usually) call him Lao Leung (老梁),” she shared.
The duo also spoke about Tony’s alleged social phobia. “I don’t think he (is) socially (anxious),” Carina said, with Anna agreeing. “He’s introverted. If he (finds) a suitable friend, he will chat a lot and be very talkative.” Anna was quick to add: “(He) won’t stop.”

Anna Ueyama, Carina Lau and Tony Leung have been very close for a long time. But, fans had previously expressed discomfort about Anna’s actions, claiming it was disrespectful towards Carina. Still, it seems Carina herself isn’t too bothered by Anna’s affection so perhaps fans will back off too!
