Whenever a global superstar visits Malaysia, they’d only have time to explore places around Kuala Lumpur like what former Super Junior member Henry Lau did during his last visit. However, we have had some celebrities like Hong Kong actress Vicky Chan (陈思圻), Korean singer Paul Kim (폴킴) and Hong Kong actor Ruco Chan (陳展鵬) visiting Penang for pleasure.
It’s very rare to see international celebrities visit other parts of Malaysia so fans were definitely surprised to find out that South Korean actor-singer Lee Min-ki (이 민기) not only visited Sabah but also climbed up its famous mountain, Mount Kinabalu. Here’s what went down:

Yesterday (Thursday, 28th March), Lee Min-ki posted a video and a set of photos of his recent adventure to Mount Kinabalu, Sabah. The photos showed the “Behind Your Touch” star enjoying the view from on top of the iconic mountain as well as posing with the Kinabalu Park World Heritage sign.
As for the video post, the actor documented his whole journey from arriving at the airport (presumably Kota Kinabalu International Airport) to preparing for the ascend to finally making his way up to the peak. Shortly after posting the photos and video, Malaysian fans were surprised and excited to see the 39-year-old in town to climb one of the most famous summits in the world.
Many, including Sabah Tourism, gave him a warm welcome to the country while others congratulated him on his ascend. Even local radio station ERA Sabah commented on the posts, inviting him to stop by the station the next time he comes to visit.

At the time of writing, there is currently no information on whether or not Lee Min-ki is still in Sabah but it appears that the Korean celeb is on a mission to climb the tallest mountains around the world as he previously posted his last two adventures back in January and February as seen in the photos above, although he did not specify which summits they were.
