Ramadan is usually the time when many Muslims would take the opportunity to better practice their religion. Some people have made it their goal to start wearing the hijab throughout this holy month as a stepping stone on their journey to becoming better Muslims.
However, there are also those who would only wear the hijab if they were paid to do so. This does not sit well with many and actress Rozita Che Wan even took the time to say a few words about these people. Here’s what she said:
Rozita Che Wan posted a video on her TikTok video of her daughter wearing the hijab while making desserts in the kitchen. The actress can be heard saying, “Look at her. Beautiful, hardworking and covering her aurat. Allahuakhbar”. While it may seem like an innocent video of a mother praising her child, the main point of the video was written in the captions.
The former beauty queen wanted to express her thoughts on people, mainly celebrities, who do not take the commitment of wearing the hijab seriously. “When our daughter said she wanted to wear the hijab during Ramadan, we told her that it’s not for fun, it’s a requirement for us women to cover up regardless of what month it is. There are a lot of people, especially celebrities who would only wear the hijab for money, not for Allah,” she said.
The 51-year-old did not mention any names so there’s no way of knowing if she was referring to anyone specific in her captions. She ended her post by advising her fans to not be one of those hypocrites. “When Allah asked you to, you don’t do it but when it involves money, you’d do it without hesitation. Don’t be like that please”.
After posting the video, most comments were about how cute Che Wan’s daughter is but there were a few who agreed with her statement, praising her for speaking her truth. Do you think she was referring to anyone in particular in her post?
