(Video) Singaporean Actor Ryan Lian Arrested After Trying To Break Open A Stranger’s Home Lock

A Singaporean homeowner was shocked when she received a notification that someone was trying to crack into her home’s electronic lock. However, adding to her surprise was that the perpetrator was Singaporean actor Ryan Lian (廖永谊).

The incident occurred over the weekend in the Telok Blangah neighbourhood in Singapore at around 11am. The victim, a 30-year-old female nurse, said she was having a meal at a restaurant when she received a notification that someone had rang the doorbell of her HDB flat unit. When checking the security camera footage from her phone, the woman said she saw a shirtless man fiddling with the metal gate of her front door.

Shockingly, the man was eventually able to open the metal gate and then proceeded to fiddle with the wooden door, trying to pry it open. To the victim’s relief, the man stopped and turned away, but as he walked off, he ran into her family’s helper. Unfortunately, the helper was not aware that the man had just tried to break into the house and he managed to escape. The victim then called the police and alerted her neighbours of the perpetrator in case of any danger.

The man was identified as actor Ryan Lian, best known for his role in the movie, “Ah Boys To Men”. The Singaporean police confirmed that they have arrested Ryan under the Mental Disorders Act, and he is currently under investigation for the incident. However, the authorities didn’t share the reason for the 39-year-old’s suspicious behaviour. Although, the victim suggested that he may be dealing with mental health issues.

After appearing in “Ah Boys To Men”, Ryan began taking up various roles in dramas and movies. He currently heads the Singaporean media company Longmao Studios, which creates content for online media. According to reports, he also displayed other examples of erratic behaviour before the door-breaking incident, including taking off his shirt in public and stealing a shopping cart from the victim’s neighbour.

Whatever Ryan is currently dealing with, we hope he can get the help he needs. At the same time, we also hope the victim and her family can put this terrifying experience behind them.
