(Video) “This Is My Biggest Regret”: Internet Celeb Tou Ge’s BF Mourns Her Passing Following Tunnel Accident
Chinese internet celeb 头哥 (Tou Ge) is well-known among the motorcycle-riding community for her love of the heavy two-wheeled machine. Unfortunately, it seems that same love has resulted in her recent passing.
Recently, an internet celeb went viral for riding a motorbike at high speed into a tunnel. Police later confirmed that an accident had taken place in that tunnel, with the rider passing away. However, it was only recently revealed that the identity of said internet celeb was Tou Ge.
Photos of the alleged 20-year-old female internet celeb have since been circulated, showing her lying splayed on the ground in the tunnel. A part of the tunnel wall looks to have been damaged as well in the photo, with debris scattered on the road. Aside from photos, a netizen’s testimony has also been spread online, claiming that they had witnessed the accident around 4pm on 15th September.
Apparently, they had been driving on the same road when a motorcyclist roared past them at high speed, overtaking other vehicles on the road. 10 seconds after the biker entered the tunnel, the witness alleged they heard a loud noise. Upon entering the tunnel, they spotted the motionless body of the biker on the ground. Said netizen reportedly described it as “the closest (brush) to death” they’ve had.
Tou Ge’s boyfriend, EZ小谢 (EZ Xiao Xie) has since confirmed that his girlfriend had passed away in an accident in a tunnel on the way to a motorcycle conference in Chongqing. He added that Tou Ge had only gotten her superbike license over a year ago but he had not been supportive of it. “I’m sorry for not looking after you better,” he penned to her. “This is my biggest regret.”
Other Chinese media have since reported that Tou Ge had allegedly been driving at an estimated speed of 100km/h, far above the speed limit. Although her official cause of the accident has yet to be confirmed, some media claim she had been blinded by a glare at the bend of the tunnel, others allege she had hit the curb.
Tou Ge’s socials have been privatized, and her boyfriend has stated he will be helping with the funeral arrangements and comforting her parents. Our hearts go out to those who knew her. We sincerely hope they will find peace in her passing. We also hope others will take care on the roads when driving.
