(Video) Ustaz Adnin Thinks Muslims Are Sinning If They Listen To BLACKPINK Rosé’s “APT.”

The ultra-viral song, “APT.” which is a collaboration released by the world’s most famous girl group member, BLACKPINK’s (블랙핑크) Rosé (로제) with remarkable singer Bruno Mars has garnered mixed feelings among listeners, including locals. Netizens deemed the song’s lyrics too inappropriate, especially since the tune is being used as background music for videos that young and impressionable children have easy access to.

The lyrics were not straightforward, yet people still claim that they have ill intentions and worry it might influence people to do sinful things. Ustaz Adnin, a popular Malaysian internet personality who leans toward Islamic content on Instagram and TikTok has spoken up on what he thought about “APT.”.

Adnin mentioned in his video that Muslims are sinning if they listen or sing to Rosé’s song. This is because the lyrics are improper and don’t fall in line with the Islamic lifestyle. Not to mention that the song’s co-singer and producer, Bruno Mars, is known to support Israel. “You guys support Palestine to its core, but the second a catchy music drops by an Israeli supporter, you guys crumble down and forget your principles.

However, it’s not just Adnin who’s speaking up about “APT.”. A public health awareness page on Facebook, which is a non-government related platform that focuses on delivering healthful living information, briefly explained the meaning of the song and why it shouldn’t be played around children. But a K-pop news page, Koreaboo, accidentally made an article with misleading information.

In Koreaboo’s article, they mentioned that it was Malaysia’s official Ministry of Health (MOH) that posted a statement about the tune, instead of public page. This caused Malaysians to send angered comments in the comment section, telling Koreaboo to fact-check their articles before posting them. The MOH has since come out with a statement regarding the issue as well.
