Yesterday (Tuesday, 26th December), TikTok user @ballerina391 posted a video on her channel of an incident that happened to her near the Maybank outlet in Bukit Bintang. In her post, the woman claimed that she was threatened by a gang after refusing to pay for parking. “They claimed that all the parking spots in the area are theirs. They even put a price of RM15 for each car,” she wrote.
Unfortunately, because she refused to pay the unspecified individuals, her car was left with scratch marks by the time she returned to it. As seen in the video above, she zoomed in on the long scratch mark on her white vehicle. Shortly after her post went viral, netizens encouraged the victim to report to the authorities about the incident. Some even shared their similar encounters with “parking worms” while others tagged the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) to look into the situation.

Thankfully, @ballerina391 took netizens’ advice and filed a complaint to the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) regarding the incident. In her report, she wrote that 2 local women and 3 foreign men had been threatening people in the area to pay them to park. The leader of the group, known as Kak Ara, claimed that the parking spaces belonged to her and that she’d do something to people’s cars if they refused to pay her money to park.
“I hope DBKL will take immediate action. Thank you,” the victim wrote in her captions. At the time of writing, DBKL has yet to release an update regarding the issue but let’s hope that something will be done about these “parking worms” to avoid anyone getting their property damaged or worse, getting hurt from trying to fight back.
