Wang Leehom Can’t Sell Out Concert Tickets Despite Promising 2 New Songs

Are fans ready to forgive Wang Leehom (王力宏)? After announcing his comeback via concert in Las Vegas in December 2022, the 46-year-old Cantopop star has been hoping for a resurgence in his music career by testing the waters abroad.

As you may know, the disgraced singer experienced a career low and lost almost everything after ex-wife Lee Jing Lei (李靚蕾) exposed his dirty laundry and slew of cheating scandals. It’s been over a year since the shocking news made headlines, but it looks like perhaps fans aren’t ready to embrace him just yet.

His concert, titled “ONE LeeHom Wang“, is set to take place this weekend on 28th January at Resorts World Theatre with almost 5000 capacity. The artist also announced that he will be debuting 2 brand new songs during the concert – 1 of which is titled “One”, which also takes after the concert. “One” is said to be inspired by the Bible (the book of Job from the Old Testament).

According to sources, “One” reflects on how many events in life can change a person for the better. There is bound to be obstacles and hardships, but if you hold on and do not give up, you can rise from ashes and prevail. Judging from the lyrics, this song is definitely an emotional number that will tug on people’s heartstrings.

Having said that, it appears that Leehom’s concert has only received a lukewarm response so far. Organisers were hoping for a sell-out show but that doesn’t seem to be the case. As such, they’ve been releasing new promos of Leehom to sway people’s interest in a last ditch effort. There are also sponsored ads billing this concert as “an almost sold out event” to urge fans to purchase tickets.

Unfortunately, we don’t see Leehom fairing any better if he were to bring his concert to Asia.
