Xiaomi’s second fully electric (EV) model, the YU7 SUV, was unveiled yesterday in conjunction with the company’s 15th-year anniversary. The EV SUV is offered in three configurations: rear-wheel drive (RWD), all-wheel drive (AWD) and Max AWD.

As previously reported, the YU7 SUV shares many design elements with the SU7 sedan, including the closed grille, distinctive “water drop” headlights, and X-shaped daytime running lights. To improve airflow, the upper section of the lighting system has a hollowed-out design, complemented by a hollow rear spoiler and a roof-mounted LIDAR sensor.

Additional features include inward-folding electric door handles and UWB (Ultra-Wideband) support for smartphone-based keyless entry and boot access. The YU7 will be offered in nine exterior colours, including a green inspired by Colombian emeralds, as well as striking orange and metallic titanium finishes. Depending on the configuration, the vehicle weighs between 2,140 kg and 2,460 kg, and comes with a choice of 19- or 20-inch wheels.

The interior of the YU7 is trimmed in premium Nappa leather. It also features a 1.1-metre-wide “HyperVision” dashboard, consisting of three Mini LED screens with 108 PPD retina-level resolution and integrates driving data, media, blind-spot imaging, and customisable widgets. It is complemented by a 16.1-inch central touchscreen infotainment display, while rear passengers enjoy dual entertainment screens, similar to those in the SU7 sedan.

The front “zero gravity” seats offers up to 123 degrees of recline and a 10-point massage function. Rear passengers benefit from electrically adjustable seats and a 6.7-inch touchscreen for infotainment and climate control. For storage, the YU7 provides a 678-litre boot space , which expands to 1,758 litres with the rear seats folded. Additionally, there is a 141-litre front luggage compartment, while the cabin offers 71 litres of storage spread across various compartments.

As for the powertrain, the RWD has a 320PS motor paired with a 96.3 kWh LFP battery (835 km CLTC range). Meanwhile, the AWD comes with a 496PS dual motor together with a 96.3 kWh LFP battery (770 km CLTC range). As for the AWD Max, it has a 760 km CLTC range, a 101.7 kWh NCM battery and a dual motor with 690PS.

The YU7 is powered by V6s Plus motors from United Automotive Electronics, operating on Xiaomi’s 800-volt platform. This enables ultra-fast 5.2C charging, delivering up to 620 km of additional range in just 15 minutes or a 10–80% recharge in only 12 minutes.

It is also equipped with an advanced driver assistance system comprising one LiDAR unit, one millimetre-wave radar, 11 high-definition cameras, and 12 ultrasonic sensors. These are powered by the Nvidia Drive AGX Thor platform, which offers up to 700 TOPS of processing power to support assisted driving capabilities.
