7 Tips for an Internet Marketing Beginner

For an internet marketer, life can be pretty overwhelming in the beginning. Here are a list of guidelines to help prevent you from 'going off the deep end.'

Also, on a side note you may want to re-read this article several times or come back to it on a regular basis to keep these concepts fresh in your mind.

1. Approach your business with the same mind set you would if you were building your business offline. 100% commitment and an open mind will go a long way in this industry and is required for the success of any entrepreneur.

2. To help speed your learning curve along try out some different programs and software in your spare time. You need to get a good feel for the internet marketing arena and a little bit of knowledge about html, crafting compiling marketing funnels and web design will only empower you that much more.

3. NEVER … get involved with a system with the expectation it will do 90 to 100% of the work for you. As you are browsing the web you will come across multiple sales pages that will try to convince you that they have created a system that will completely automate 90 to 100% of the work.

DO NOT FALL FOR IT!

I can tell you from personal experience that no matter how great a system is, there will never be a piece of technology ever invented that will completely replace the power of a human relationship. You may be able to create an extra $ 1000 per month with these systems, but you will never create a massive organization that will give you the financial freedom you desire without talking to people.

4. Avoid 'Get-Rich-Quick' schemes or any other hyped up opportunity. When looking for a business to join or a program to get involved in look for offline contact points. An address or valid telephone number is a good sign the company is legit. Another good test to do when filtering your options is to send them a real email and wait for a reply. If they do not respond to your email then it is probably a scam.

5. Dedication! Stay focused at all times. One thing every single successful Internet marketer has in common is dedication. You have to be in it for the long run. DO NOT start your Internet marketing career with the mentality that you are going to 'try it out' or 'quit if it does not work.'

6. Build your own email list by creating your own lead capture page! Only market to those who have requested more information about you or your business. Do not be tempted to send out high volume unsolicited email. You will quickly gain the reputation of a spammer.

Most programs do not accept spammers. If you are spoken you could have you memberships dropped or accounts terminated, so always be aware of these Terms and Conditions.

And last but certainly not least.

7. Organization! And I will be the first to admit that even I need to work on this one a little bit more. Keep all of your business activities and transactions logged into folders. You can never have too many folders as long as they are named correctly. This also applies to your email accounts which should be checked daily. To be the most time effective you need to be able to access any folder, software, or file within 45 seconds.

Remember, Internet marketing is a 24/7 365 day job that is always working for you even while you sleep. Web sites never call in sick and they always do what you tell them to do. So, once you hit that tipping point if you are not organized things will get chaotic.
