Personal Branding For Marketing Yourself

0

Branding is defined as a trademark or distinctive name identifying a particular product or manufacturer. So simply this means that in order to successfully, personally brand yourself, you must create a distinct image. It must be something that sets you apart from everyone else. So you must utilize a personal branding system for marketing yourself when it comes to stepping up in your career.

How do you know this is true for the times and is a working solution? What do you see in your mind when you hear the words "coke" or "McDonalds"? What about when you hear the names, "Oprah" or "Dr. Phil". They all create a distinct, one of a kind image in your head, right? This is because of branding, it is also proof it works and will for some time to come. Personal branding will help you on your path for the ride up the ladder of your career.

Everyone needs personal branding, especially career wise. It steps you away from the throngs; and heads above the competition.

In this case, career searching, there are several hundred other people trying to get what you consider "your job". There are also several hundred resumes for others on the desks of the recruiters and the hiring managers for the same position.

This is why you need to showcase your talents and your particular YOU-NESS to land that desired position.

Effective personal branding has hits that almost always need to be followed.

One of these personal branding hits is your personality. You must let your personality shine through. There will be many others that have the same mindset, goals and degrees you possess; but none will have your distinct personality.

You must highlight and push your life skills as well as your business and technical skills. (By push we do not mean to let personal branding become an ego ride or be obnoxious).

You must also let the hiring person know what benefit you will be bringing to them to consider you above all the others.

You are creating a personal brand to market you. Make it count.
