Is Having a Home-Based Business a Sensible Idea?

0

I realise that there is a lot to say about being sensible. What makes sense? Is it being sure to have enough money to support yourself and your family?

Sense about how you feel in your daily life. Having a ‘great’ job or a big career doesn’t have to mean that you like what you do. Coming from the corporate world, I’ve seen all too many people climbing the corporate ladder, working their ass off. Not having time to spend with your loved ones, pursue your hobbies, or even get some rest once in a while. Being burnt out at 30 years old. Doesn’t make sense to me. Being bored out of your mind, not knowing what to do with your life. Sticking out your 9 to 5 – or the 8 to 7 that seems to be more of the standard just because ‘that’s what people expect’. Doesn’t make sense to me.

Spending your time as you please, calling the shots in your own agenda, working without a sense of time or ‘must do’. Some days chilling in the park because you tried to work but your brain was all fuzzy, so you’d rather chill. Some days buzzing with energy, having tons of new ideas about how to proceed, working from dawn until dusk and beyond. Knowing that everywhere you go there are ideas for the business, all the people you know and meet bringing opportunities to enhance your work, spread your ideas. Learn from some, teach to others, always being on the leading edge of creativity. Makes a hell of a lot of sense to me!

Our sense of security is connected to the amount of money that is available to us. Paying your house and being able to put food on the table are basics we all want to cover. It depends on the choices you make – but most of all on how you feel about those choices. I’d rather invest in my company than spending money on tickets to parties in the coming festival season here in Amsterdam. Not one single moment have I got the feeling I’m missing out. So having enough money to do the things you want and trusting the vibe of positive energy to bring money on the side. Makes perfect sense to me!

Sure, in all of life there are tasks we’d rather not do. And although we live in an outsource-type of world now, it’s gratifying to complete also these tasks that give you discomfort. A greater sense of victory comes when you’ve been a little bit uncomfortable.

Does my story makes sense to you? Then what you need to know is that you’re not alone out there. Working on your own business, means being the one responsible for your actions. It doesn’t mean you’re alone – it will bring you more connections than ever! You’ll be amazed how many people turn out to do the exact same thing. Use your newly found network for support.
