Road Closures In Klang Valley, Putrajaya On 15 To 17 April 2025 For Chinese President’s Visit

Several roads in the Klang Valley and Putrajaya will be fully closed or diverted in stages from Tuesday (15 April) to Thursday (17 April) to facilitate Chinese President Xi Jinping’s state visit to Malaysia. Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department director Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said that a total of 17 routes had been identified for temporary closures, with each expected to last between 30 and 45 minutes, depending on the delegation’s movements.

On Tuesday, 15 April 2025, closures will begin at 6pm. This will affect Lebuh KLIA, the North-South Expressway Central Link (ELITE), Putrajaya Ring Road, Putrajaya-Dengkil Highway, Persiaran Selatan, Lebuh Gemilang, and Jalan P5.

On 16 April, starting from 9.30am, additional closures will be implemented along Jalan P5, Lebuh Gemilang, Persiaran Selatan, Putrajaya-Dengkil Highway, Putrajaya Ring Road, Maju Expressway (MEX), Shah Alam Expressway (KESAS), Setiawangsa-Pantai Expressway (SPE), Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Expressway (SUKE), New Pantai Expressway (NPE), SMART Tunnel, Kuala Lumpur-Seremban Expressway, Jalan Istana, Jalan Damansara, Jalan Sultan Abdul Halim, and Jalan Sultan Iskandar.

At 12.30pm on the same day, the same set of routes will be temporarily closed again. Later at 4.10pm, closures and diversions will affect Jalan P5, Lebuh Gemilang, Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, Lebuh Sentosa, Lebuh Perdana Barat, and Persiaran Seri Perdana. A further set of closures at 6.30pm will again impact Persiaran Seri Perdana, Lebuh Perdana Barat, Lebuh Sentosa, Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, Lebuh Gemilang, and Jalan P5.

On Thursday, 17 April, road closures are scheduled to start at 8.50am. This will affect Jalan P5, Lebuh Gemilang, Persiaran Selatan, Putrajaya-Dengkil Expressway, Putrajaya Ring Road, ELITE, and Lebuh KLIA.

A total of 378 police officers and personnel will be deployed for escort, traffic control, and enforcement duties throughout the three-day period. Motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly, use alternative routes where possible, and follow the directions of police personnel to help ensure smooth traffic flow during the visit.
