This article is a follow on from "Metatags" a previous article in the SEO Category

After optimizing the title, and metatags, its time to start on the body. Some places to start here are on the keyword saturation, and this section – the headers. Search engines do take headers into account – how much variies on the search engine. The amount of emphasis on them is disputed, however they are better to have optimized than not.

If your content has a couple of main sections, which most articles or segments of text typically have in order to make sense, try to integrate your primary keywords into them and give them a header tag, EG (H1, H2, H # .. .etc.)

Example 1

Supply Chain Management NVQ,
supply chain management, purchasing NVQ, procurement NVQ, logistics, CIPS, MCIPS, Edexcel,
National Vocational Qualification, Training

– This header – optimized for the terms in it is good to put as far up in the body text as possible, including search engines take note of it.

File Extensions

For optimal crawling of your own website remember to have a .xml sitemap, good link structure, and what this section delves into – simple file extension, or addresses. This is important, as search engines prefer you to avoid complex characters and java extension as they have difficulty navigating through them and will probably not index all of your content.
