Although some were disappointed with the seating arrangements, most IU (아이유) fans had an exciting weekend seeing the idol perform live on stage in Axiata Arena during her 2-day concerts. Prior to the concert, on the day of her arrival, the singer handed out Korean snacks to her adoring fans who have been patiently waiting for her at KLIA.

The K-pop star has consistently treated her fans to snacks from her homeland whenever she visits a new country during this tour but who knew that she would actually bring back Malaysian snacks to give to her fans back in Korea? Check out some of the things she got while she was here:

IU is currently on a break before she resumes her “H.E.R.E.H World Tour” starting with England later this month. As expected, fans were waiting for the idol to arrive at Incheon Airport to welcome her home and just like fans abroad, they too received a special gift from her. A fan posted photos on Twitter to show that IU and her staff hadhanded out snacks she bought from Malaysia.

Among them were KLCC Twin Towers-shaped chocolates, Beryl’s Tiramisu and Durian-flavoured chocolates, and several types of cookies. While Korean fans were thrilled about receiving foreign snacks and sweets from their favourite artist, Malaysian fans were even more stoked that Uaenas (IU fans) there got to try some of the tasty treats from our country. Many started recommending which of the snacks Korean fans should try first while a few commented that they have yet to try some of the snacks in the photos despite being Malaysians.

It’s quite possible that IU bought these snacks at KLIA while she was waiting for her flight to Korea. Maybe next time she’ll have more time to try other food, desserts and snacks that most locals enjoy. What would you recommend her to try during her next visit?
