Synology announced two new DiskStation Network-attached Storage (NAS) models today. The two models are the DS1825+ and DS1525+, and both have been released less than a month after the launch of the DS925+.
The DS1825+ is the largest of the two, featuring an 8-bay expansion unit with support of up to 360TB of raw storage. Additionally, the NAS features two built-in 2.5GbE port, as well as support for up to two NVMe M.2 slots, supporting average sequential read and write speeds of 2,230MB/s and 1,573MB/s, respectively, or for NVMe caching. Further, it can also support networking cards with speeds up to 25GbE.
Internally, the Synology DS1825+ runs on an AMD Ryzen V1500B, has 8GB DDR4 RAM but that can be upgraded to 32GB via the dual memory slots. It has also been updated with three USB 3.2 Gen1 port, and two USB-C external expansion ports.
Moving on, the Synology DS1525+ features a 5-bay expansion chassis, capable fo supporting up to 300TB of raw storage. Like the DS1825+, it is also powered by the same Ryzen V1500B CPU 8GB DDR4 RAM, and even comes with the same dual NVMe M.2 slots and built-in dual 2.5GbE ports.
Both the Synology DS1825+ and DS1525+ are already available starting today via authorised resellers. At the time of waiting, Synology did not provide local pricing.
