Well I am back to talk about Twitter this week. Wow what a great product, huh. For those that do not know what Twitter is, Twitter is a social network for people to tell what they are doing at all times of the day. Some internet marketers use this tool to blast out ads.
I was taught that this is not a good idea for Twitter, over time you will be dropped off peoples list. It is also not a good idea to follow more people than follow you. This shows that you are either a bot or out just to get as many followers as possible. Some people view this as you do not have good tweets, leaving you out in the cold. Use Twitter to brand yourself meaning, getting out there giving good content, and allowing people to understand who you are. When starting a business people want to know who they are buying from. Just like Facebook, MySpace, and blogs people want to know who you are. Now yes Facebook and MySpace do have business pages which is good. But that is very different than your personal account. What I am getting at is keep things separate for that reason. Give good content, connect with people on a personal level and gain their trust. Selling to them on a daily bases is not going to work. I do not blame people for not buying if that is all you do. Do good reviews of products and put your name behind them. Give special bounciness for people that buy from your link such as an eBook or a newsletter weekly.
So lets go over what this article is about:
1. Brand yourself with social networks, do not try and sell.
2. Keep business and personal pages separate.
3. Gain trust of buys, with good reviews even if you have to buy the product yourself.
4. Connect with buys on a personal level, with free stuff such as ebooks, and newsletters with good content. Something that will help them.
Well that is all for Twitter and branding for now. William Stancil
