There are many effective marketing strategies that have been around for years. Some have outlived their usefulness and others are just coming in their prime. I want to discuss 5 marketing strategies that can be used very effectively right now, today.
A commonly used strategy right now is networking on social media sites. What is a social media site? A social media site is a site where people meet to visit, share stories and pictures, network, etc. Examples of social media sites are Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and LinkedIn. These are just a few of the sites where effective marketing can occur. How can you market on social sites? First you need to set up an account. Then you invite people to be your friend or follow you. Each day you enter valuable content into your status box at least once. Two or three times a day would be better. Form a group and invite people to join your group. Again valuable content needs to be shared with the group. People will come to know and trust you as they can see the value in what you have to offer. Can you really help them to get what they want? Are you willing and able to inherit the knowledge that you have gained? Are you trying to help them or yourself?
Another effective marketing strategy is article marketing. Can you express yourself in written form? If you can write and express your thoughts in a clear and concise manner then this might be just the strategy for you to develop. The main thing in article marketing is to be consistently writing 250-750 word original articles. Then you need to offer them to as many article directories as you can. If your goal is to rank on the first page of Google with your articles then you need to learn to find often searched for keywords that have little written about them. If the keyword or phrase that you want to use is highly competitive then you need to take a fresh approach and get as many backlinks to your article as possible. As you hone your skills you will find that you can have a home on the front page of Google.
Video marketing is hot right now. Who has not heard of YouTube? The first thing you will want to do is to set up one account on YouTube. Never have more then one account on YouTube. Get your video cam out and shoot your first video. What have you learned today about marketing? Explain that on your video. When you combine videos that have the same keywords as your articles you might find them both on the 1st page of Google by linking your video to your article. Combine the two and you have a very effective marketing strategy.
Can you say PayPerClick (PPC)? Very effective marketing strategy but you had better have a pretty solid resource for money because this strategy can be very expensive. Expensive, yes! Targeted, if done right, defiantly! This is one strategy where there is a learning curve that can be costly. More risky but very rewarding when it is mastered.
The final strategy that I would like to address is free online classifieds. It takes time to learn this strategy just like it does any of the other strategies. You need to be very brief and to the point in the ads. Yet appeal to their emotional "need" to trade their money for your product or service. For this to be a very effective marketing strategy less can be more. Some of the most effective ads are very short.
