Marketing – Main Segment for Successful Business Planning

It's everywhere. In every city or specific areas, Marketing is essential for all type of business. Let's see for each and every household, every bus shelter & radio station. Everywhere you look. Do not be scared though, just take it in stride. Advertising is here and bigger than ever. From big brands, to self, Everyone's doing it, are you?

Marketing is a discipline in constant flux. New avenues and thought processes are appearing (and disappearing) all the time. Whether it's Industrial, digital or Medical marketing via print ads in newspapers, magazines and bus shelters, one thing that has remained constant through that advertising matters to all types of business – whether big or small.

Marketing – Then and Now

Marketing in 2013 should not be confused with the market that your mom and dad were used to. Tools have changed. Tactics have changed. Messages have changed. People have changed.

Social Networking sites like YouTube, Face book, and Twitter. Mobile. The list goes on and on – but all are prime players in the new wave of Marketing. In the age of the Internet, the way people interact with your business has changed forever. Control has shifted, so too has the way your customers think and behave with your brand and business. Everything is within reach. Let's take a further look, shall we?

Decades ago, the consumer had all the control. Think Mad Men and Don Draper. They created a campaign, took a place, dished out the information. It was one to one, Business to customer – simple, easy, effective. The customer took all the information and absorbed it. Control was a one-way street. The customer could not engage – and if they did – it would not be instantaneous or interactive like it is now with platforms like Twitter and Face book.

Marketing engagement is not just the ability to interact with brands and businesses, but also to do research before you buy. The opportunity to engage and customize your actions and behaviors drastically changes the B2C and even the B2B relationship.

It is no longer about show and tell. Technology and the Internet have altered our attitudes and it has gotten harder, not easier. Stories matter, so does brand value. Does your business have either?

Marketing – The Future

New platforms and creative ways to engage and interact with your customers are emerging daily. Social media promotion drives engagement. It makes brands and business more human and personal. In a study of social media marketing conducted by Chadwick Martin Bailey and iModerate Research Technologies 79% followers of a company's Twitter account will recommend its products to others. On face book, 51% of people who belong to a fan page of a business or brand will make a purchase. Social media is an extension of the brand stories businesses are now telling. But the future of marketing goes far beyond just like Face book, Twitter and other social media.

So what's next for market? Engagement and content is king. But how do you engage customers with content? People are busy. Mobile marketing is on the up and up. Do not believe us? Get connect with People.
